Prez bats for unity for cause
KATHMANDU: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav today called upon all to forge unity to bring the ongoing peace process to a logical conclusion and draft the new constitution within the stipulated time.
The President urged all to maintain utmost flexibility and find consensus to realise the twin goals of the Constituent Assembly. The President made this remark after inaugurating a marathon organised by the Madan Bhandari Sports Academy here at the Dasharath Stadium. Yadav reiterated that it was the responsibility of all the political parties to draft the constitution and find lasting peace in the country through settlement of political disputes.
On the occasion, CPN-UML standing committee member, K P Sharma Oli urged the Unified CPN-Maoist to give up their protest programme and use their energy in the statute drafting process. He accused that the process was at deadlock due to Maoists' non-cooperation.
