KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 22
President Ramchandra Paudel, accompanied by First Lady Sabita Paudel, performed the Gaipuja rituals today by making offerings and paying homage to the cow on the occasion of the Gai Tihar festival.
According to tradition, cows are worshipped on this day as a symbol of Goddess Laxmi, the deity of wealth and prosperity, as part of the five-day Tihar celebrations.
Upholding the age-old custom, President Paudel offered prayers and delicacies to the cow during a ceremony held at the President's Office, Sheetal Niwas, the President's Secretariat stated.
