KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 23
Devotees thronged the Balgopaleshwar Temple today to receive tika and offer prayers on the occasion of Bhaitika, marking the final day of the five-day Tihar festival.
The temple, situated at the centre of Ranipokhari pond, opens to the public only once a year on Bhaitika. According to priest Bhim Koirala, over 1,500 devotees had visited the temple by 2:30 p.m.
Sisters without brothers and brothers without sisters traditionally visit the temple on this day to receive tika and blessings from Lord Balgopaleshwar.
