KATHMANDU: The sixth session or the budget session of the Legislature-Parliament began today with speaker Subas Chandra Nembang reading out a letter received from the President’s office.

Nembang informed the parliament that President Dr Ram Baran Yadav would present the policies and programmes of the government for the fiscal year 2009/10 in the parliament at 4 pm tomorrow.

He requested all the lawmakers and invitees to be seated half-an-hour before the President’s address. He also requested the lawmakers to be present in formal uniform as set by the parliament.

Some of the lawmakers last year were present in their traditional attires. According to the parliamentary regulations, House will discuss on the government’s policies and programme for a couple of days before passing it thanking the President for his presentation of the policies and programme.

Finance Minister Surendra Pandey is scheduled to present the annual

budget on July 13 after discussions on the policies and programmes.
