KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 14

President Ramchandra Paudel has urged the government to concentrate fully on conducting the forthcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5, 2026.

While receiving the annual report of the National Security Council for the fiscal year 2081/82 BS at the Office of the President on Sunday, the President called on the government to discharge its responsibilities in a manner that does not affect the upcoming polls, according to the President's Press Advisor, Kiran Pokharel.

On the occasion, President Paudel instructed the security agencies, including the Nepali Army, to place greater emphasis on security matters and to act with increased promptness and vigilance.

He also expressed confidence that the National Security Council would function more effectively in the coming days by closely analyzing potential emerging security threats.

Prime Minister and Chairperson of the National Security Council, Sushila Karki, submitted the report to the President, the statement said.
