PM issues instructions to ministers, bureaucrats

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today told Cabinet colleagues and government bureaucrats that the ministries should carry out development work and other assignments to cater to the needs of the public.

Addressing an interaction in Singh Durbar today, the prime minister said the public had high hopes from the government and the government had obligation to live up to people’s expectations.

“This government is not like a priest who goes to a temple and offers obeisance everyday in the same manner,” he said and added that his government was committed to moving the country ahead in a new way breaking from past traditions.

According to a press release issued by the prime minister’s private secretariat, the PM instructed the ministers and secretaries to finish discussion on new projects by July 9 and start implementing them from July 17.

PM Oli said that there was a need for achieving the goal of self-reliance in agriculture by utilising the land plots that remained unutilised till date. He also said that the government should provide enabling environment to help people become self-reliant.

The prime minister also told the ministers and bureaucrats to perform well to prove critics of the government’s policies and programmes wrong.

The PM said the government had adopted zero tolerance towards corruption and nobody should do anything covertly or commit any irregularity.
