Private schools' Act soon

KATHMANDU: Janardan Nepal, joint-secretary, Ministry of Education, on Saturday said they are amending the education Act as per the exigency of time. He added that they were they were discouraging unhealthy competitions in education sector through the Act. Dr Tirtha Raj Khaniya, member, National Planning Commission, said that the act could be helpful in monitoring and regulating private schools. The government should play the role of a facilitator rather than play an interveniost role, he added. Private school entrepreneurs have demanded that the government come up with separate act for regulating and monitoring private schools, Bhoj Bahadur Shah, PABSON president, said, addressing an interaction programme.
