Probe committee formed

KATHMANDU: The government has formed a three-member high level committee to investigate the Trishuli bus accident. According to home ministry Spokesperson Narayan Sharma Duwadi, a  meeting held to discuss the accident had formed the committee.

The committee will prepare a report with recommendations for required policies aimed at minimising human and property loss in future. The committee, with MoH Joint Secretary Man Bahadur BK as Chair, includes one member each from Nepal police and Armed Police Force.

Duwadi  also said the committee could include experts in the team as required.  “The committee has been given seven days to submit its final report,” he  added. Duwadi informed that the meeting focused on rescue.

“Some of the survivors hinted that the bus was overloaded but we could not confirm the total number of passengers in the bus,” he said.
