Probe into CJ attack ordered

Kathmandu, June 20:

The Supreme Court today told the Ministry of Home Affairs to probe yesterday’s attack on Chief Justice Kedar Prasad Giri’s car by protesters at Putalisadak.

The apex court told the ministry to book the persons responsible for the attack and sought its clarification on why security personnel did not forewarn the CJ about the situation.

“The Supreme Court asked the ministry how security lapses happened when the mob attacked the CJ’s car,” apex court assistant spokesperson Hemanta Rawal said.

“We wrote a letter to the Home Secretary urging Home Ministry to carry out an investigation.”

Rawal added.
