Progress of bilateral projects reviewed

Kathmandu, November 8

The fifth meeting of Nepal-India Oversight Mechanism was held here today.

Co-chaired by Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi and India’s Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri, the meeting reviewed the progress achieved in the implementation of bilateral projects since the fourth meeting of the mechanism held on July 6, 2017.

The two sides reiterated their commitment to the early completion of all bilateral economic and development cooperation projects within the specified time-frame by providing required facilities and resolving difficulties in an expeditious manner, according to a foreign ministry statement.

The Nepal-India Oversight Mechanism was set up as agreed during the state visit to India by the prime minister in September 2016.

The foreign ministry said that the sixth meeting of the mechanism would take place in Kathmandu on a mutually convenient date.
