Kathmandu, February 27:

The Kathmandu DAO today imposed prohibitory orders against holding any demonstration, sit-in, rally or mass meeting in areas surrounding Chinese embassy in Baluwatar and its consular section in Hattisar.

The prohibitory orders were issued keeping in view with the sensitivity of the area and challenges in maintaining security, according to a press release issued today by the DAO.

As per the orders issued under the Local Governance Act 1971 (amended), the roads leading to Chinese embassy in Baluwatar and its consular section in Hattisar have been declared restricted for above-mentioned activities.

The roads that lead to the embassy are Bhatbhateni to Nepal Rastriya Bank office and Kastamandap School to Bishalnagar Chowk. Besides these two roads, all areas within a radius of 200 metres from the embassy and its consular office have also been declared restricted.
