Property worth Rs 500,000 was stolen from the house of Gyandu Lama at Bouddha, Kathmandu metropolitan city-9, yesterday night.

According to the Bouddha ward police office, a gang of thieves last night broke into the house and decamped with the jewelleries and other properties. The police is searching for the criminals.

One drinks to death

Rakesh Chhetri, 25, died last night due to excessive alcohol consumption, the Lalitpur police said. Chhetri was found[ lying unconscious on the street at Mahalaxmi, Lalitpur sub-metropolitan city-8 and was declared brought dead by the Patan Hospital, the police said.
