Provincial assemblies will name HQ: OPMCM
KATHMANDU: The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers stated on Monday that the government was preparing to name ‘temporary locations’ for the purpose of swearing in elected provincial assembly members and conducting other ‘works of the highest importance’.
Issuing a statement, the OPMCM added that although the constitution mandated provincial assemblies to name provincial headquarters, the government had the responsibility of naming ‘temporary locations’ to begin ‘provincial operations’ until provincial assemblies met.
“As per the constitutional provision, headquarters of provincial assemblies will be named by provincial assemblies themselves,” read the statement.
