Public holiday on arrival of Indian, Chinese Presidents

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to declare public holiday on November 2, the day when Indian President Pranab Mukherjee is arriving in Nepal on a three-day state visit.

A meeting held on Thursday morning made the decision to that effect, according to the government spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communications Surendra Kumar Karki.

According to a statement issued by the PM's Secretariat also informed that there would be a public holiday on the day Chinese President Xi Jingping would arrive in Nepal for a visit.

The date for Xi's visit, however, has not fixed yet.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet has also decided to appoint Urgendra Acharya from Jhangajholi of Sindhuli district in the Cottage and Small Industry Development Committee.
