Dahal pledges inclusion of disabled people in NIC

Kathmandu, July 20

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that disabled people will be ensured representation in the National Inclusion Commission.

Addressing a programme organised by Nepal Association of the Blind on the occasion of its silver jubilee here today, Dahal stressed the need to fight elements trying to create political stability in the country. The former prime minister also urged one and all to work towards achieving socialism-oriented prosperity.

Stating that Nepal’s constitution was one of the best, he stressed the need to move ahead by formulating necessary acts and laws for effective implementation of the same. Dahal warned that some forces were posing threat to the political stability of the country.

Similarly, National Assembly member Prakash Panta underscored the need for effective implementation of constitutional provisions related to the rights of people with disabilities.

Likewise, National Federation of Disabled Nepal Chair Sudarshan Subedi demanded a high-powered commission that would help secure the rights of people with disabilities.
