Rain forecast from Tuesday onwards

Meteorological Forecasting Division has forecast moderate rainfall in western parts and light rainfall in Kathmandu and nearby areas for Tuesday.

According to MFD, westerly system will enter Nepal on Tuesday morning and arrive in  Kathmandu by Tuesday evening.

Meteorologist Samir Shrestha said the westerly system was strong and would affect central and western parts of the country.

“So mercury will plummet and Kathmandu Valley and western regions will experience severe cold,” Shrestha told The Himalayan Times. He said there would be snowfall in high mountain areas. The westerly system is roaming west from Jammu and Kashmir. MFD said rainfall would  continue for approximately three days as the system was carrying enough moisture.
