Rallies banned in key areas

Kathmandu, April 30:

A day after the King rolled back the state of Emergency, the Kathmandu district administration today issued prohibitory orders banning demonstrations and protests in some key areas in the city in accordance with the local administration laws. Mass demonstrations and protests have been prohibited near and around Singha Durbar, the Narayanhiti Palace, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shital Niwas and Narayangopal Chowk in Chakrapath, Maharajgunj. The district administration office has also prohibited protest rallies and demonstrations near and around Shahid Gate, Bhadrakali, New Road Gate till the statue of Judda Shumsher, Maitighar, Putalisadak, Krishna Pawroti chowk, Jai Nepal Cinema Hall till Nagpokhari. Demonstrations have also been banned near and around the prime minister’s residence at Baluwatar, Jamal, Bhotahoty, in front of the Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation office, Ratna Park and the stretch of road between Anamnagar and Hanumanthan.
