Ram Leela to be performed in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, August 26:

Shree Navadurga Bhawani Sewa Sangh and Agrawal Sewa Kendra are planning to organise Navaratri Festival to celebrate Bijaya Dashami this year.

Issuing a press statement today, the organisations said they were going to organise Ram Leela for the first time in Kathmandu to celebrate the festival. “Ram Leela, a drama based on the lifetime of Lord Rama, will be a new experience for the Kathmanduites,” the statement said.

Artistes from Kolkata will arrange special light systems for the festival, the statement added.

Around 300,000 people are expected to participate in the twelve-day festival starting on September 30.

Other attractions of the Navaratri Festival will be activities like Kalash Yatra and Krishna Leela,

the organisers said.
