Red Cross aid for tsunami victims

The chairperson of Kathmandu District Section of Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS), Mukunda Bahadur Pradhan, handed over Rs 1,80,000 to Ramesh Kumar Sharma, the NRCS president today. The amount was collected to help the tsunami victims of the region, said the Nepal Red Cross Society press release issued here today. According to Sharma, the NRCS has shown concern over the International Red Cross Society’s plea for tsunami victims. Chairperson Pradhan said that all sections of society — from a policeman to a beggar — has contributed his share for the welfare of tsunami victims. Out of the total amount of Rs 1.8 million collected so far by the NRCS and others organisations, Rs 1.2 million has already been provided to tsunami victims through its regional office in Delhi.
