Robbery in Capital

Kathmandu, June 1:

Unidentified persons looted Rs 2 lakh and valuables worth Rs 2.63 lakh from the house of Arun Agrawal at the Kuleshwor Residential Area this morning, police said.

According to the police, a scuffle erupted when the group armed with pistols, khukuris and iron rods broke into the house and tried to take seven family members under control.

“One of the persons hit the 65-year old mother of Arun on the neck,” the police said. The 65-year-old has returned home after undergoing treatment at the Teku Hospital.

“After taking the family members under control, they forced one of the family members to open the cupboard and safe. They collected cash, valuables and fled,” police said. Investigations are underway to identify and nab the looters, police said.
