Royalist parties meet to form alliance

Kathmandu, February 5:

Some 27 pro-monarchist political parties today initiated efforts to form an alternative force to the SPA for the April 10 CA polls.

At a conference convened by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N), leaders representing various fringe parties, advocating monarchy, criticised the SPA for failing

to maintain the law and order situation.

They said the government cannot hold the polls due to the “deteriorating” law and order situation in Tarai. RPP-N leader Rajeswor Devkota sought resignation of the government.

RJP today formed an Election Mobilisation Main Committee under coordination of party chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa. A meet of the RJP’s central working execution panel decided to organise a national convention on February 13 and 14 in Kathmandu.
