RPP asks PM to fix poll date
Kathmandu, November 17:
Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Pashupati SJB Rana today asked the government to fix a new date for Constituent Assembly elections at the earliest possible.
In a meeting with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala at the latter’s official residence in Baluwatar this morning, the RPP chairman also called on Prime Minister Koirala to ensure an environment conducive for elections.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, the RPP chairman said he also demanded the government to include all the parliamentary political parties in the local bodies.
Rana said he also asked PM Koirala to appoint two RPP members as lawmakers in the interim parliament in the place of two lawmakers of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party — Netralal Shrestha who is in the United States and Ajay Pratap Shah who died a few months ago.
