RPP cancels scheduled National Unity Procession

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajantra Party has cancelled its nationwide campaign scheduled for March 21-25, taking into account the security concerns and rising tension in Tarai districts after Monday's fatal incident in Saptari.

The party had planned to stage the "national unity procession" simultaneously from Gorkha, Kathmandu, Jhapa and Kanchanpur.

Seeing the need for building up conducive environment for elections and maintaining national unity as well as social harmony, the party took the decision to this effect, RPP leader Rajaram Shrestha told the Rastriya Samachar Samiti.
