RPP-Nepal discusses Oli's request, participation in new govt
KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal is holding a meeting of its Central Committee to discuss the CPN-UML's formal request to support its candidate, Chairman KP Sharma Oli, in the prime ministerial election.
The meeting will formally decide whether to vote for Oli and take part in the majoritarian government that he would lead if elected as Prime Minister.
The meeting is being held at the party's central office in Dhumbarahi this morning.
The support of RPP-Nepal, which boasts 25 members in Parliament, is considered to be crucial for Oli as Nepali Congress is mulling over fielding its own candidate in the election despite a gentlemen's agreement among top leaders of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist to help him to lead the new government.
