RPP to forge alliance with like-minded parties
Kathmandu, February 3:
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party central working committee meeting today formed an Election Mobilisation Committee under the coordination of party leader and former PM Lokendra Bahadur Chand.
RPP spokesperson Parshuram Khapung said the party also decided to forge electoral alliance with other political parties supporting federalism and proportional representation system for the Constituent Assembly polls, but refused to name any party.
The RPP maintains that the opposing views of the government and the agitating Madhesis are major obstacles to the CA polls, Khapung said.
“Now the government and the Madhesi factions are at loggerheads, with the government claiming to have fulfiled all the demands raised by the Madhesis and the later denying such a claim,” he said.
Today’s meeting also constituted a Parliamentary Committee under the chairmanship of party chairperson Pashupati SJB Rana to finalise the names to be proposed as candidates for the CA polls.
