RPP to support automatic suspension of MPs accused of criminal offence

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided to support the legal provision which stipulates for the automatic suspension of the Member of Parliament (MP) post in case an MP is accused of criminal offence.

A meeting of central work execution committee of the party took a decision to this effect, said party spokesperson Bhuwan Pathak.

The meeting passed the political paper (with revision), which party Chairman Kamal Thapa is to present in the meeting of the party's central council scheduled to be held in Birgunj from May 21 to 23.

It also endorsed the organisation strengthening action plan, training action plan, proposal on amendment of the party statute, and report on evaluation of the election results, to be presented in the council meeting by party General Secretary Rajendra Lingden, Spokesperson Pathak, central members Govinda Khaniya and Bishnu Bhandari, respectively.
