KATHMANDU, APRIL 3
Vice-chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Dol Prasad Aryal, filed his nomination for the post of Speaker of the House of Representatives on Friday.
Aryal submitted his candidacy at the Federal Parliament Secretariat in Singha Durbar at 11:00 am. His nomination was proposed by party chair Rabi Lamichhane and seconded by lawmakers Swarnim Wagle, Sobita Gautam and Sunil Lamsal.
According to Parliament Secretariat officials, nominations for the Speaker post can be filed between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, with the final list of candidates to be published at 2:30 pm.
The election of the Speaker is scheduled to take place during the House meeting on April 5.
