SAARC’s role sought

Kathmandu, June 28 :

The Bhutanese refugees group staging a sit-in protest in front of the United Nations mission in the capital demanding its role in the repatriation process, today began protesting in front of the SAARC secretariat seeking its role, too.

Bhutanese leader Tek Nath Rijal has resented the way the issue of the Bhutanese refugees has been taken by the international community.

In a memorandum submitted at the SAARC secretariat, Bhutanese refugee representatives sought active role of SAARC in the repatriation process.

A group of refugees is sitting outside the United Nations mission since the past four months, but to no avail.
