Sah’s custody upheld
KATHMANDU: Sadbhawana Party lawmaker member Sanjay Sah, who was sent to judicial custody last year in connection with the Janakpur bomb blast failed to get reprieve from the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
A division bench of Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha and Justice Om Prakash Mishra endorsed the lower court’s order to send Sah to judicial custody until the final verdict in the case. Dhanusha District Court had ordered him to judicial custody.
This was also endorsed by the Appellate Court, Janakpur, following which Sah had approached the apex court challenging the lower court’s order.
Sah, the alleged mastermind behind the bomb blast that took the lives of five people at Ramananda Chowk of Janakpur on April 30, 2012 was arrested in May last year.
