Samajwadi Party Nepal set to be registered at EC

KATHMANDU: Samajwadi Party, Nepal is all set to be registered at the Election Commission in Kathmandu today afternoon.

Coordinator of Naya Shakti Party, Nepal Baburam Bhattarai and President of Federal Socialist Forum, Nepal Upendra Yadav had signed an agreement to merge both parties and form the unified Samajwadi Party, Nepal on May 6.

As per the agreement, Bhattarai will lead the federal council while Yadav will chair the central council of the unified party.

Representatives from both parties are currently having discussions at the office of the then Naya Shakti Party, Nepal regarding today’s party registration, said General Secretary of FSFN, Ram Shahaye Yadav.

The party registration is set for 1:00 pm, he added.
