Kathmandu, July 13:

The Civil Servant Organisation’s Nepal Civil Servant Union Divisional Committee of the Ministry of Education and Sports today expressed concern about the death of Saptari District Education Officer Hasarat Ali due to the “YCL cadres action”.

Ali had died in Shambhunath while heading home in Janakpur on Saturday. In protest, the offices under the MoES remained shut from 2 pm today. The panel appealed to the civil servants to close offices on Monday as well.

Meanwhile, various organisations today condemned the YCL cadres’ act of torturing Saptari DEO. They also demanded an investigation and punishment for the guilty. Nepal Teachers’ Union, Nepal Education Technical Association, Human Development and Peace Campaign flayed the act.
