ONCE OVER
KATHMANDU, MAY 14
The Supreme Court on Friday decided to resume hearing cases related to fundamental rights, interpretation of the constitution, and public interest litigation.
This decision was taken by SC's full bench. The apex court also decided to hear cases related to reconciliation in criminal cases.
The apex court had, from April 28, halted the hearing of other than habeas corpus cases and cases related to COVID-19 due to sudden spike in COVID-19 infections across the country.
Jurists had criticised the court for halting hearings of cases related to fundamental rights, interpretation of the constitution, and public interest litigation.
