SC tells ministries to send documents

Kathmandu, June 2:

The Supreme Court today sent separate letters to several ministries directing them to send documents related to various cases it had asked for. Dispatching letters to the secretaries of the Ministries of Home, Finance, Land Reform and Defence, the SC asked them to do so in order to deliver prompt justice. “Send documents in time so that there would not be any delay in providing justice,” the apex court told the Ministries. Meanwhile, the SC sent a separate letter to the Kathmandu District Administration Office asking it to send documents regarding a writ petition filed against the Kathmandu CDO to initiate action against him.

The SC also ordered the Ministry of Home and Police Headquarters to release Nepali Congress

leader Baldev Majgainya, who has been under preventive detention since February 1. The order was issued by a division bench of Justices Chandra Prasad Parajuli and Balram KC following a hearing.
