Scores detained from Valley

KATHMANDU: At least 80 people were detained on Monday, on the second day of general shutdown imposed by the CPN-Maoist and other parties, from the Kathmandu Valley. Police said they were involved in vandalism, arson and intimidating others to enforce the bandh

As many as 72 bandh enforcers were held from different places of Kathmnadu and eight from Lalitpur this morning.

The protestors had vandalised and set ablaze a parked Bolero jeep at Kalimati area at around 7:45 am. Also, a taxi was burnt in Kalopul area.

One bus each were vandalised in Chabahil and Gwarko area.

There were more vehicles, private and public, plying the roads today. Most of the educational institutes, however, remained closed.
