SCSRI meet hits stalemate

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Special Committee on Supervision, Rehabilitation and Integration (SCSRI) of the PLA fighters concluded inconclusively in Singha Durbar on Wednesday.

According to sources, the meeting could not reach any decision due to the UCPN-Maoist demands. The number of combatants to be inducted in the integration process before the secretariat formation and the fate of the integration process would be finalised through the High-Level Political Mechanism.

Though the committee had already decided to form a nine member secretariat for the army integration, the Maoists proposed their PLA chief Nanda Kishor Pun 'Pasang' as the candidate for secretariat chief whereas the other parties opposed the Maoist view point.
