The Lalitpur sub-branch of the Valley Crime Investigation Branch yesterday arrested a person on charge of stealing computers from his own office at Satdobato, Lalitpur, where he was assigned duty of a security guard.

According to Lokendra Shrestha, police inspector at the branch, police arrested Shiva Shankar Naral for stealing computers belonging to Gorakha Saving and Finance Cooperative at Satdobato on January 28. Naral was assigned duty of a security guard at the cooperative by his employer Mobile Security Services Private Limited. Police said Naral stole two computers in the night of January 28. “After a complaint was filed at the police, we suspected the security guard as he was on leave from January 29. Then, we raided his room at Samakhusi, Kathmandu, and recovered two computers,” Shrestha said.

Police recovered two computers, including two printers and other accessories, from his room. The Lalitpur police has taken permission from the Lalitpur district court to keep him under custody for a week to file a case against him in the court. Meanwhile, Koteshwor area police office today seized and spoiled over 160 litres of local sub-standard liquor at Jadibuti.

According to Bal Bahadur Bista, sub-Inspector at the office, the police seized the alcohol from a bus coming from Bhaktapur and spoiled it on the bank of Manohara river. “As nobody claimed the ownership, we couldn’t identify and arrest the owner of the liquor,” he said.
