According to the revenue department of the metropolis, the seven casinos have not paid entertainment tax prescribed by the Economic Act of Bagmati Province for four years.

KMC has warned the seven casinos that if they don't clear outstanding taxes, along with the interest and penalty prescribed by the Economic Act within seven days, action will be taken in accordance with Metropolis Revenue Act. According to the head of the revenue department of the metropolis Shivraj Adhikari, all casinos have to pay Rs 50 per person entering casinos as tax to the government.

KMC has been compelled to send the letter as casino operators continued to ignore repeated calls for them to pay the tax.
