KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 1
The Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre (SGNHC) has announced plans to expand its heart disease treatment services across all seven provinces of the country.
At a meeting of the Centre's Board of Directors, chaired by Minister for Health and Population and Board Chair Pradeep Poudel, the decision was made to extend these services.
The Ministry has directed the Centre to expedite the process of expanding heart disease treatment beyond the federal capital, facilitating the extension of services to six other provinces in addition to Bagmati Province.
Minister Poudel also noted that specialized cancer treatment services have been initiated in all six provinces through provincial hospitals.
It is worth mentioning that on August 11, Minister Poudel outlined 100 priorities and plans to implement following his appointment. Ensuring access to cancer treatment services and heart disease treatment facilities for patients across all seven provinces was one of those priorities.
Additionally, the Ministry's Spokesperson, Dr. Prakash Budhathoki, shared that efforts are underway to provide free treatment for burn patients in all provinces, following approval from the Ministry of Finance.
