Sharma launches ‘new creation’

KATHMANDU: Senior litterateur Mohan Raj Sharma launched a creation of Kishan Thapa ‘Adheer’ at a brief function here, today. The experiment-loving litterateur Sharma said there was an increasing trend in the Nepali literature to experiment mixing one genre with another.

“Gradually people have begun to enjoy the new experiment,” he said, adding, “The experiment of Thapa is appreciable.”

The collection of the new creations - hybrid of story and novel-titled ‘Adhyapi’ is a new experiment in the field of Nepali literature, author Thapa claimed.

Addressing an interactive session, another litterateur Chandra Prasad Bhattarai noted that the newer technologies including computer, television and internet have widened the avenues for the new generation to do amazing experiments in all the fields, including the literature.

The theme of Thapa’s creation is the increasing foreign interference in the internal matters of the country and its effects in daily lives of the Nepali.

Besides, the book chronicles corrupt mentality, mess in the country, increasing dependence, insecurity, border encroachment among others. Petty interest, illiteracy, deceiving nature and dual character of politicians and increasing influence of foreign powers are cited as some of the reasons behind what he describes as present ‘pathetic’ situation of

the country.

Thapa said he has taken various incidents from the newspapers as proof for these activities in his creations.
