Shree Ram Chandra Temple in Battisputali reconstructed

KATHMANDU: Reconstruction of the Shree Ram Chandra Temple in Battisputali has been complete.

The locals had carried out the maintenance after the government failed to bring a concrete plan for the reconstruction of this historical edifice, which was damaged by the earthquake on April 25, 2015.

The reconstruction has been completed coinciding with the Ram Nawami festival today.

The 145-year-old temple was repaired at a cost of Rs four million, which the locals of Battisputali collected from donors within and outside the country.

"The main temple and the smaller temples on the four corners of the main temple have been repaired in their original dome shape.

The repair and maintenance has been carried out as per the archaeological standards using the grouting technology for the first time in the country, said Govinda Tandan, Member-Secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust.
