Mahesh Kumar Shrestha has announced his candidacy for the chair of Non-Resident Nepali Association via its forthcoming 11th general convention.

Shrestha announced candidacy for the leadership of NRNA's two-year term from 2023 to 2025.

He also made public his five policy and plans. "Strong, common and united NRNA will be my major goal," he said, adding that he would be energetic to make the association active.

Shrestha argued the NRNA's image and status was being questioned, so all Nepalis scattered across the globe would be united to make NRNA more trustworthy and convincing.

He has set the slogan for the coming general convention, 'Prosperous Nepal: Respected Non-Resident Nepalis'. Shrestha also vowed initiative to bring in more foreign investment in Nepal during his term. Similarly, the collective investment fund of Rs 10 billion will be implemented immediately.

"I've been working actively for the welfare of the motherland with the involvement in NRNA since its establishment," he said, adding that effective collaboration with Nepal government would materialise for achieving prosperity with knowledge generation, and transfer of skills, technology and capital. Shrestha also pledged to establish a labour and skill bank with the collaboration of Nepal government.
