Six ministries addressed less than 50 pc complaints

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Tuesday said six ministries have failed to address complaints registered by the people with Hello Sarkar.
Four years after the establishment of Hello Sarkar desk at OPMCM, the ministries addressing less than 50 per cent complaints were Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Physical Infrastructures and Transport, Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development, Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment.
Other bodies addressing less than 50 per cent of complaints are Higher Secondary Education Board, Secretariat of the National Planning Commission, and Public Procurement Monitoring Office.
OPMCM Secretary Shreedhar Sapkota said Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed the ministries to improve their performance and to address as many public grievances as possible.
Sapkota said the PM’s office would hold a discussion with the ministries regarding redressal of public complaints every month.
The Hello Sarkar desk was set up at OPMCM in 2056 BS. So far, a total of 40,794 complaints have been lodged with Hello Sarkar.
Of these, 91 percent were settled by the respective ministries.
