Kathmandu, March 28:
The second day of the School Leaving Certificate examinations that began yesterday passed in a peaceful manner. However, a bus carrying the question papers was caught in an ambush at Kajuri, Nepalgunj, and the superintendent was hurt. The controller of Office of Controller of Examinations (OCE), Birendra Kumar Singh, told The Himalayan Times that the assistant superintendent was able to conduct the examinations successfully albeit 15 minutes late.
"We are being very careful of the fact that the examinations should not be halted due to lack of question papers," said Singh.
The Gandak bandh and blockades in Banke and Bardia called by the Maoists, did not affect the examinations as most of the students are staying near the examination centres.
"According to reports received, the number of students of the region equalled that of the first day," said Singh. He said the SLC results would be published after two months.
The answer sheets will be sent to the conference hall on April 7 after the examinations end on April 5.Thirty-six centres have been fixed for the conference marking system this year.
