KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police on Tuesday arrested a man who had been absconding after being convicted of smuggling. He was arrested from Koteshwor. Kavre District Court had sentenced Rudra Narayan Timalsina, 35, of Sindhupalchowk to a year in prison along with a fine of Rs 964,000 in 2013 in absentia for smuggling red sandalwood. He was arrested while trying to smuggle 603 kg of red sandalwood from Kavre to Sindhupalchowk in 2011. On submission to Kathmandu District Court for verdict execution, Timalsina was sent to Dilli Bazaar jail.
