SP Dilli Raj Bista suspended; DSP Gyan Sethi, Inspector Ekendra Khadka called to HQ
KATHMANDU: Superintendent of Police (Nepal Police) Dilli Raj Bista, who was the investigating office as the rape and death of 13-year-old Nirmala Panta was being probed in Kanchanpur, has been suspended.
His suspension comes in the wake of mass criticism of the state and its mechanisms' failure to carry out a prompt investigation into the teenager's murder.
Likewise, Deputy Superintendent of Police Gyan Bahadur Sethi and Inspector Ekendra Khadka have been called back to the Nepal Police Headquarters.
