SPA will not defer polls: Nidhi

Kathmandu, December 25:

Nepali Congress general secretary Bimalendra Nidhi today said the seven-party alliance would not in any way defer the CA polls.

“Be assured, the seven parties will not defer the CA polls since it is their one and the only agenda,” Nidhi told an interaction at the Reporters’ Club today.

Nidhi said neither the Madhesi people nor the king would obstruct the polls. On the contrary, he said that though the monarch does not exist anywhere in the statute, the king still enjoys the State facilities.

UML leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari emphasised on the need to implement the past pacts reached between the government and Madhesis and the Dalits to ensure the polls.

Maoist leader Dev Gurung vowed to face the polls on the basis of seven-party unity.
