Pariyar, six others cleared of corruption charges
KATHMANDU, JANUARY 7
The Special Court has acquitted former Chief Administrative Officer of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Pradeep Pariyar, along with six other officials, in a corruption case related to sewerage construction.
A division bench of judges Narayan Prasad Paudel, Hemant Rawal and Umesh Koirala ruled that none of the defendants had any involvement in financial irregularities, ordering their acquittal.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed the case against seven individuals, accusing them of corruption in a sewerage management contract along the Samakhusi corridor from Bashundhara to Mhempi.
