Special Court settles 17 per cent cases in 1.5 years

KATHMANDU: The Special Court has settled around 17 per cent of the cases filed in the past one and a half years.

Out of the total 320 cases, only 58 have been settled, said the Court's Spokesperson Nagendra Keshari Pokharel.

"Cases filed in the court are serious. So it takes comparatively longer time to settle them which causes delay," he said.

He said that lower number of cases were settled this year due to the recently held elections. The judges and the staff at the Special Court were mobilised for conducting the elections by the Election Commission.
