Sri Lankan army chief arrives in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Sri Lanka's Army chief Lieutenant General AWJ Crishanthe De Silva today arrived in Nepal on a six-day official visit on the invitation of Nepali Army's Chief of the Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri.

Upon his arrival, NA Major General Binod Kumar Shrestha received the visiting Sri Lankan Chief at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

During his visit, the Sri Lankan army chief is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and  Defence Minister Bal Krishna Khand, according to a press statement issued by the NA Directives of Public Relations.

Similarly, De Silva will visit the Pokhara-based Western Divisional Headquarters of Nepali Army.
