Stage set for Nepal Women Association general convention

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Women Association (NWA), a sister organisation of Nepali Congress, on Sunday informed that it had completed all the necessary preparations to organise its third general convention beginning from September 14.

The NWA convention is going to be held from September 14 to 16 in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.

Addressing journalists at a press meet today, NWA President Dila Sangraula said that the organisation had completed all the preparations for the convention which was repeatedly postponed for last few years.

Arrangements for all basic needs including drinking water, accommodation, health check-up facilities had been done for the gala, NWA spokesperson Nirmal Chhetri added.

'Four gateways for empowerment: equal participation, peace, prosperity and constitutional development' is the theme of the convention.

The convention would be inaugurated by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba on September 14.

Likewise, the closed session would be held in the same place, Bhrikutimandap on September 15.

The NWA would elect its new leadership through an election during the convention on September 16.

The election would be held at the Rastriya Sabha Griha.
